Śpij kochany, śpij

Standard

Kayah & Goran Bregovic

Śpij kochany, śpij
Ooooo, Śpij kochany, śpij!
Gdy ufność Ciebie zmorzy
Gdy na Twą głowę spadnie
Sprawiedliwych sen

Gdy tylko zamkniesz oczy
Ja pod osłoną nocy
Ucieknę stąd jak mogę najdalej

Ucieknę, bo
Nie mogę tak dalej

Ucieknę nim z_miłości
Całkiem połknę Cię

Bo im więcej Ciebie chcę,
To mam siebie coraz mniej
Wybacz mi

Ooooo,
Śpij kochany, śpij!

Ooooo,
Śpij kochany, śpij!

Ucieknę od przepaści
Tych ramion, z_których się
Nie wyrwę nigdy już

Od jezior Twoich oczu
Utopię się, gdy wskoczę

Ucieknę, bo
Nie mogę tak dalej

Ucieknę stąd
Jak moge najdalej
Ucieknę od pułapki orchidei ust

Bo im więcej Ciebie chcę,
To mam siebie coraz mniej
Wybacz mi

Ooooo,
Śpij kochany, śpij!

Ooooo,
Śpij kochany, śpij!

Bo im więcej Ciebie chcę,
To mam siebie coraz mniej
Wybacz mi

Ooooo,
Śpij kochany, śpij!

Ooooo,
Śpij kochany, śpij!

Śpij kochany, śpij!
Śpij kochany, śpij!
Śpij kochany, śpij!

Bella Ciao

Standard

Goran Bregovic and Weddings & Funerals Band Concert at Festival di Villa Arconati. This is a varison of the mitical song which italian soldiers sang while they were fighting against nazism and fascism during the II World War.

Bella Ciao
Una mattina mi sono svegliato,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
Una mattina mi sono svegliato,
e ho trovato l’invasor.

O partigiano, portami via,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
O partigiano, portami via,
ché mi sento di morir.

(x2)

Tutte le genti che passeranno,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
Tutte le genti che passeranno,
Mi diranno «Che bel fior!»

«È questo il fiore del partigiano»,
o bella, ciao! bella, ciao! bella, ciao, ciao, ciao!
«È questo il fiore del partigiano,
morto per la libertà!»

(x2)

Hello gorgeus(translation)

One morning I awakened
Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!
One morning I awakened
And I found the invader

Oh partisan carry me away
Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!
Oh partisan carry me away
Because I feel death approaching

And the people who shall pass
Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!
And the people who shall pass
Will tell me: “what a beautiful flower”

This is the flower of the partisan
Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!
This is the flower of the partisan
Who died for freedom

We are not whores, we are prostitutes! (translation)

It’s below zero Ladies in fur-coats
Policemen in boots And we wear steletto heels
Hey Europe, do you need whores?
Here we are, 100 Euros cash
Hey, come on, come up, You with the tie, too.

We are not whores, we are prostitutes

It’s below zero Ladies swinging in their snug homes
Policemen swinging their clubs,
And we, on the sidewalk, swing our hand-bags
Hey Europe, do you need whores?
Here we are, 100 Euros cash
Hey, come on, come up, You with the tie, too.

We are not whores, we are prostitutes!

Fire of rage (translation)

You used to say that
my love is a jailhouse
now you are chained up to big trouble

It wasn’t for money
It wasn’t to spite you either
but a fire of rage in my chest
rage

So, you tell me
tell me, how come?
maybe it’s because she wears tight clothes,
which turn you on, damn her!

So you tell me
tell me, how come?
maybe it’s because in her breast
a strange wind blows
and between her legs lies a spell

thinking of you
I spend my days.
I’m burning alone in this bed
your heart is tortured
it’s entangled
she takes your breath away
Rage

So, you tell me
tell me, how come?
maybe it’s because she wears tight clothes
which turn you on, damn her!

So, you tell me
tell me, how come?
maybe it’s because in her breast
a strange wind blows
and between her legs lies

Gas, gas

Standard

Song by Goran Bregovic vs Shantel

“Gas, gas”

Ej, što voliš miris kamiona
Šoferskih gostiona
Hormona do plafona
Muškaraca tona
Turbo je sezona

Ej, što voliš miris od benzina
Ej, ti tako fina
Hop, hop, malo, malo pa krivina
Ljulja se kabina
Turbo je mašina

Ajde, ajde, nije to od vina
Ej, nije ni od serpentina
Uhvatila te milina
Šest meseci ti vrućina
Turbo je godina

Samo reci
Mali, mali, meni toga fali
Ćirilice, atmosferice
Mali, mali, meni toga fali
Gas do daske, bebice!

Gas, gas…
Gas, gas…

Kelneri ko šećeri
A pevaju šoferi
Nek se živi
Pa ko preživi!

Šoferi, šoferi
Ej, da vas je više
Voliš, voliš, voliš…
Ej što voliš kad na muško miriše

Gas, gas…
Gas, gas…

Translation

Even Good Lord is happy when the poor have fun
Make sure you bury me standing when I die
So I can continue dancing when I have a chance

Hey, what is life!
Life’s a bag of bollocks
We’d better sell the little we have
And make a big party

GAS, GAS, GAS, GAS,

Hey rhythm, rhythm,
Hello, hello, hello, HEY, SEXY RHYTHM
Hey penniless, hey you poor,
With you I have no problem

But what will I do with the rich ones?
They’re a bit fat for dancing
They look a bit dead.
Gas, to the dash-board

Let’s go pretty girl
Push the pedal all the way
And on! As long as there’s gasoline!

Prawy do lewego

Standard

Song from the album ‘Kayah i Bregović’ which is a joint album by Serbian musician Goran Bregović and Polish singer Kayah, released in 1999. The album became a bestseller in Poland, exceeding 700,000 copies sold.

Prawy do lewego

W dużej sali duży stół
A przy nim gości tłum
Gospodarz zgięty wpół
Bije łychą w szklankę

Cisza chciałbym toast wznieść
Jak można to na cześć
Ojczyzny w której wieść przyszło życie nasze hej

Racja brachu

(Więc) wypijmy za to
(A) Kto z nami nie wypije
Tego we dwa kije
Prawy do lewego
Wypij kolego
Przecież wiemy nigdy nie ma tego złego

A na stole śledzik był
Zobaczył go pan Zbych
I pojął dobrze w mig
Że śledzik lubi pływać
Wstał by nowy toast wniesć
Za rodzinę świętą rzecz
No i teściowych też
Rodzina to jest siła!

Racja brachu……….

Dzisiaj młodzież już nie ta
Użalał się pan Stach
Lecz machnął ręką tak
Że wylał barszcz na panią

Nic to jednak przecież bo
Sukienkę można zdjąć
A toast wznosi ktoś Za dobre wychowanie

Racja brachu………

Pana Kazia kolej to
Więc krawat ściągnął bo
Przecież postarza go
I choć był już na bani

Bez pomocy z gracją wstał
Jąkając się dał znak
By wypić teraz za
Balony pani Mani

Racja brachu…………

Translation

There is a big table in a big hall
There are a lot of quests at the table
The host bend in an half *
Is hitting a glass with a spoon

Quiet! I’d like to make a toast
If it is possible in honour of
Our homeland in which we lead our life

You are right my brother **!

So drink up for that !
[b]And who won’t drink with us
We will took him into two sticks ***
Right one to left one
Drink up mate !
We all know that it never happend any bad things…***

There was herring on the table
Mr Zbych saw it
And he figure out in a second
That the herring likes to swim****
He gets up to make another toast
In honour of family which is a holy (blessed)
And in addition for mother-in-law too
Because the family is the power !

You are right mate…

The young people of today are not the same (as in the past)
Mr. Stach was complaining
But he waved his hand so hard *****
That he spill beetroop soup on a lady

There is nothing to warried, isn’t it ?
She can take off the dress
But the toast is rising for good manners

This is Mr Kazik’s turn
So he take off his tie
Because the tie makes him look older
And although he was already drunk

He stand up with a grace
Stuttering, he made a signal
To drink now for
Mrs Mani’s boobs

Mesecina

Standard

Song by Goran Bregovic from the album ‘Ederlezi’. This is also the leitmotiv of Emir Kusturica’s movie ‘Underground’. This song has a great influence from the song ‘Deli Mara’ from Saban Bajramovic.

Mesecina

Nema vise sunca
Nema vise meseca
Nema tebe, nema mene
Niceg vise, nema joj.
Pokriva nas ratna tama
Pokriva nas tama joj.
A ja se pitam moja draga
Sta ce biti sa nama?

Mesecina, mesecina,

Sunce sija ponoc bije,
joj, joj, joj, joj
Sa nebesa, zaproklija
Niko ne zna, niko ne zna
Niko ne zna, niko ne zna
*Niko ne zna sta to sija

Moonlight (Translation)

There is no more sun,
There is no more moon,
There is no more you,
There is no more me.
There is nothing more… oh.
Darkness of war has covered us,
Darkness has covered us… oh.
And I wonder, my dear: What will happen with us?

Is it moonlight at noon? oh-oh,
Is it sunshine at midnight?… oh-oh,
From the skies above, light is beaming…
Nobody knows, Nobody knows,
Nobody knows, Nobody knows,
Nobody knows what is really shining.

Ladybug (Translation)

Everyone is asking
Ladybug why are you so tiny?
Oh God, oh God I love her
Ladybug I will pay everything for you.

Hey folks listen,
Sweet beautiful children.
Ladybug, little girl,
You are great, the greatest song.

Jinji rinji Ladybug
You, tiny beauty
Go away man,  I’m not marriageable,
Children, folks

Everyone is asking,
And mother is serving beans,
Oh God, oh God everything has been eaten,
Ladybug can’t wait.

Hey folks listen,
Sweet beautiful children,
Life is a merry-go-round
God bless husband and wife.

Jinji rinji Ladybug
You, tiny beauty
Go away man,  I’m not marriageable,
Children, folks

Hey folks listen,
Sweet beautiful children.
Ladybug, little girl,
You are great, the greatest song.
