Ketri Ketri

Standard

Song by Kalyi Jag (witch means Black Fire in romany). “More than three decades ago Mr. Gusztáv Varga had a dream: to write and sing songs first time in Europe in his mother tongue, in Romany. He set up a music band, and named it Kalyi Jag”. They became one of the most acknowledged representatives of the original gypsy music culture from Hungary.

Translation
Ketri Ketri, come after me,
Ketri Ketri, live with me,
Come back, sit down here,
Come after me!

You are like a little flower,
Beautiful little flower,
My heart is happy, happy,
Be with me!

Ketri Ketri, my heart is heavy,
Ketri Ketri, my heart is breaking,
I will kiss your heart,
Come and sit beside me!

Ketri Ketri, dance for me,
Ketri Ketri, sing now for me,
Do sing and dance for me,
Come after me!

Ketri Ketri, I am already merry,
My heart is also merrier,
Because I can see you beside me,
Marry me, be my wife!

When you dance, my heart is happy,
When you sing, my heart breaks,
Come back to me,
Marry me, be my wife!

Ketri, Ketri, I am already merry,
My heart is also merrier,
Because I can see you beside me,
Marry me, be my wife!

When you dance, my heart is happy,
When you sing, my heart breaks,
Come back to me,
Marry me, be my wife!

Little, tiny dear daughter,
You are chattering to me,
Little, tiny dear daughter.

Oh daughter, my dear tiny baby,
Alalala…..
Oh daughter, my dear tiny baby,

I’ll buy some gold jewels for you,

All the gold jewels in the world,
Dear tiny daughter.

God bless my daughter,
My tiny baby,
My tiny baby,
My beautiful Sabina.
